Mechanical allodynia measured in CCI mice and sham mice with the Von Frey test in maximum force before withdrawal ±SE preoperatively and postoperatively in both ipsilateral (left) and contralateral (right) hind paw. Statistics were done with linear mixed models in which: *p<0.05 as compared with preoperative measurement, **p<0.01 as compared with preoperative measurement, ***p<0.001 as compared with preoperative measurement. Considering the right hind paw the CCI mice, both catgut and silk ligatured, showed a significant increase in the maximal force before withdrawal. Considering the left hind paw no significant difference was found in the catgut ligatured mice. In the silk ligatured mice a significant decrease was found in all postoperative measurements compared with the preoperative measurements.
