Effects of EDF and its mutants on the killing activity of bactericidal antibiotic, ampicillin, in E. coli. The concentration of EDF and its mutants is 0.1 μg/mL. 2, 2′-dipyridyl (DP, 0.5 mM) and thiourea (TS, 150 mM) were used as positive controls. Peptides and positive controls were added along with 15 μg/mL ampicillin (Amp), and incubated at 37°C for 4 hours. CFU/mL was counted and calculated. Data were presented as means ± S.D. (n = 4). **p < 0.01, and ***p < 0.001 were presented as compared to the ampicillin group.
