The second plot in (a) shows the cumulative variance accounted for by the first twenty modes. (b) Shows the RCs for this model. Most modes display high frequency variability, with the first mode showing some of the indices displaying a multidecadal timescale; while the amplitude of the other index RCs is minimal to zero. There is no signal propagation.
